"Our half-day on the water with Bruce was a great experience. Of course, it didn't hurt that the
porgies were practically jumping into the boat - not to mention a few fluke, sea bass and a muscular
Bruce navigated us around the bay from one spectacular location to the next, making sure our fishing trip wasn't just about the fishing, but about seeing the breathtaking waters and topography of the East End up close. (You just don't get that looking through the car windshield.) His knowledge
of the 'life aquatic' - both underwater and airborne - gave our outing an educational component we
weren't expecting but fully appreciated.
We released most of the fish we caught, but following Bruce's instructions & recipe, that night we enjoyed
amazing porgies on the grill. Brilliant with local sweet corn! We'll definitely be returning for another serving."

Our family which included 3 kids (10, 8, 6) had a marvelous time on a sunny August afternoon with Bruce. It was our first time fishing but a like a good Captain, he insured all were successful in landing a fish. We caught four varieties of fish. More importantly, given his Marine Biology background, it was a natural history lesson as well. Boat was clean and speedy, he was excellent with the kids and all asked post the trip ‘could we do it again?’. An added bonus was that actually he filleted the fish, lunch the following day was excellent ! I would strongly recommend Bruce and his company for small groups and families who are planning a fishing expedition in the calmer waters off Gardiners Bay.
An outing on the BirdChaser with Bruce was the perfect way to spend a summer day. The boat was comfortable, the fish were biting and Bruce made the entire outing relaxed and enjoyable. Whether you fish or not, this is a beautiful and relaxing way to enjoy the East End. Everyone in our family is looking forward to the next outing already!
